Senior Leadership Training: Leading Learning

Senior leadership training addresses four key issues:

  1. Understanding the basic principles of the Critical Skills Programme teaching and learning model.
  2. Identifying the kind of support that Level One Critical Skills Programme practitioners will need to implement the model effectively in their classrooms.
  3. Implementing the Critical Skills Programme leadership model effectively.
  4. Developing a collaborative professional learning community with colleagues using Critical Skills.

The main objectives of Senior Management Training are:

  • To provide participants with the opportunity to use the Critical Skills Programme processes to address their own priority issues.
  • To ensure that participants emerge from the experience with a set of specific action steps that will help them achieve their own Critical Skills Programme goals relating to their school’s development.

Participants should emerge from a Critical Skills Programme senior leadership institute with:

  • An insight into specific senior leadership practices that can support and sustain the Critical Skills Programme.
  • An understanding of important principles of collaborative systems of leadership.
  • An experience and familiarity with the Critical Skills Programme processes, tools and techniques applicable to building collaborative organizational culture.

NOTE: It is important for those undertaking such training to have some familiarity with the Critical Skills Programme classroom model - preferably through Level 1 Training or, at the very least, by attending a Taster Day.
